| WHAT IS ANGEL FOOD MINISTRIES? Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to providing food relief and financial support to communities throughout the United States. The program began in 1994 with 34 families in Monroe, Georgia (between Atlanta and Athens), and has grown to serve hundreds of thousands of families every month across 44 states. Angel Food Ministries crosses denominational lines and has spread the good news of the gospel of Christ through salvation tracts that are placed in each food order. | CHILDREN'S MINISTRY Children's Sunday School Class - Sunday mornings in the Education Building. For all children up to 5th grade. Wednesday Night Children’s Time- This program will teach Children about the Bible and how they can grow in their relationship with God. Beginning this Fall. Sunday Night Children’s Choir- This will be a time where the children, 4 years old to 5th grade, will learn to praise God with their voice and will learn songs that they will share with the Congregation. Beginning September 12th. YOUTH MINISTRIES (6th grade – 12th grade) Youth Group- A time for youth to learn more about God through Bible study and to fellowship with other youth through food and games and other special events. Youth Sunday School Class - This is a Sunday School class designed for Youth ages 6th - 12th grade. This will be held in the Education Building at 9:30 AM. ADULT MINISTRIES The Beginnings Class (not just for beginners) - During this twelve week program, beginning on Thursday, September 9th, 6PM - 8PM, Pastor Hurston will take participants through the basics of the Christian faith by studing video and print material. Participants will share a meal each week and embark on a journey on growing in the Christian faith. The nursey will be staffed. Programs will be planned for children. Experiencing God - This is a thirteen week video and discussion beginning on Sunday evenings this fall. Through examination of biblical and contemporary illustrations, Connie Hurstion will lead participants to understand and apply seven realities of experiencing God. Those completing this instructional series will function better as the body of Christ as members understand how to experiece God as a church. A meeting was held on Sunday, August 22, to introduce the series to those interested. Several members were present and enthusiastically decided to participate We will begin on September 12th, from 5PM to 7PM -- there is still room for more students. |
